MY STORY
HEY, I'M JOSH!
I started Jam by Josh when I was just ten years old. What began as a few jars from my backyard garden has grown into a brand on shelves across Ohio.
I spent countless hours experimenting in the kitchen, learning how to turn fresh fruit into something people truly enjoy. Along the way I’ve discovered that entrepreneurship isn’t about having it all figured out, it’s about having the courage to start and the persistence to keep going. You don’t need to be older, louder, or perfect to chase something big. You just have to believe in yourself and take the first step.
BEFORE THE STORY GETS DEEPER, HERE'S WHAT ACTUALLY GOES INTO THE JAR...
Blueberries
These Southern blueberry varieties are known for their bold flavor and natural sweetness. Titan produces large, juicy berries; Krewer is prized for its sweetness; and Climax delivers a deep, classic blueberry flavor. Georgia’s climate is widely respected for blueberry production, yielding fruit with rich character and intensity that stands out in jams and preserves.
Note: From time to time, specific fruit origins may change due to seasonal availability or supply conditions. Our standards for flavor and quality never do.
Red Raspberries
Jubilee raspberries are a true red raspberry variety (Rubus idaeus), known for their bright, fresh flavor and natural sweet-tart balance. They deliver a clean raspberry taste with strong aroma and vibrant color. Grown in Mexico’s higher-elevation regions, these raspberries benefit from warm days and cooler nights that help preserve the fruit’s lively flavor and acidity, making them ideal for preserves.

Peaches
Red Haven peaches are considered a gold-standard peach variety, valued for their fragrant aroma, juicy texture, and balanced sweet-tart flavor. Greece is especially renowned for peaches — its Mediterranean climate, with abundant sun and warm days tempered by cooling coastal and mountain influences, creates ideal conditions for growing peaches with exceptional fragrance and depth. These peaches are celebrated for their flavor, particularly when cooked, where their peach character becomes even more pronounced.

Mango
Kent mangoes are widely regarded as one of the best mango varieties for flavor, thanks to their smooth, low-fiber flesh and rich, naturally sweet taste. They offer a clean, bold mango profile without harsh acidity. Mexico is known for producing mangoes with vibrant aroma and depth, while Peru’s growing regions contribute exceptional sweetness and balance, making this combination ideal for a refined mango spread.

Strawberries
Festival strawberries are known for their naturally sweet flavor, deep red color, and classic strawberry aroma. The variety is prized for its ability to deliver full trawberry character rather than just sweetness. Egypt’s climate — long days of intense sun paired with cooler nights — is especially well suited for strawberries, allowing the fruit to develop strong flavor and aroma that hold up beautifully in preserves.

THE JAM MAN
2011
Where It All Began
Long before I could reach the stove without a stool, I was already obsessed with the kitchen. Whether I was mixing, stirring, or "quality control" tasting, I spent my toddler years glued to the counter. I didn't know it then, but those early days of playing with flavors were the first steps toward building a brand.
2015–2019
Turning Curiosity Into a Craft
Throughout elementary school, I was always the kid with "big energy" and even bigger goals. I’d find ways to turn any idea into a small business, selling things to neighbors and friends. I spent these years experimenting in the kitchen and gaining the confidence to try new recipes.

Cooking Through The Silence
During the 2020 lockdown, I was trying to think of ways I could bring people together when we physically had to be apart, so I launched Cooking Classes for Kids by Kids on Zoom, because what better way to connect people than through food! I ran hundreds of classes for kids all over the world.

Next Hobby
After a year of teaching, I took on another hobby, gardening. So I built a big backyard garden, growing everything from tomatoes to beans. When I had extra produce, as opposed to throwing it out or freezing it, I thought it would be cool to combine my 2 hobbies for cooking and gardening, so I got into canning. I had no idea what I was doing at first, but I fell in love with the hands-on work of making something fresh last.

The Jar That Changed Everything
I took one of my first experimental batches of jam to my grandma’s house. I watched her take that first bite, waiting for the verdict. When she told me it was the best jam she’d ever tasted and insisted I start selling it, the "business" side of my brain clicked into gear. You don't argue with Grandma, if she says it’s a winner, you run with it.
2022-2024
Finding My Voice Behind The Table
So for two years, my weekends started at 5:00 AM, hauling cases to farmers markets across Ohio. Selling jar by jar to thousands of strangers was the ultimate test for my stutter. It forced me to find my voice and realize that people weren't just buying jam—they were buying into my story.
November 2024
After years at farmers markets, I was ready to take it to the next level, so I launched jambyjoshCLE.com and started shipping my small-batch jars nationwide. It wasn't long before I had customers in 46 different states. Seeing the brand reach that far was a huge reminder that a small idea can grow into something much bigger than you expect.

First Big Break
2025 kicked off with a bang. I spent the first few months competing in—and winning—some of the biggest student business competitions in the country. The dream became real when Miles Farmers Market, a staple in my community, placed my jam on their shelves. Walking into a grocery store and seeing my own label under the bright lights was a moment I’ll never forget. It was the start of a new chapter.
May 2025
The Big Leagues
I signed with my first major distributor, which allowed me to scale rapidly. Suddenly, my jam wasn't just in one store—it was in 35 locations across Ohio. We were officially moving into the big leagues of retail expansion.
November 2025
By late 2025, we hit 50 stores total. Even as the pallets grew larger and we began planning for national retailers, the mission stayed the same: small-batch, real fruit, and the same heart that started it all.
Future
Scaling to every pantry in America. My dream isn’t just to be local—it’s to be a nationwide household name. I am currently working to scale our production and distribution to get Jam by Josh onto grocery store shelves across the entire country.
But this journey has become about more than just what’s inside the jar. I’ve discovered a new passion for public speaking, and I’ve had the incredible opportunity to travel the country sharing my story. I talk to students, entrepreneurs, and leaders about resilience and the lessons my stutter has taught me. For a long time, I was afraid to speak up; now, I’m using my voice to show others that your biggest challenges can become your greatest strengths.
The goal is to build a brand that represents quality, creativity, and the courage to do things differently. We’re just getting started.
