Jam and Goat Cheese Crostini
An easy to make, but very tasty recipe combining the sweet jam flavors with tangy goat cheese.
Ingredients
1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
8 oz goat cheese, softened
1/2 cup jam (mixed berry works well)
Fresh herbs for garnish (optional, such as thyme, rosemary, or basil)
Olive oil for brushing
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C)
Prepare the Baguette Slices
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet.
Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil.
Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper for extra flavor.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
Toast the baguette slices for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Flip the slices halfway through the baking time to ensure even toasting.
Prepare the Crostini
Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Spread a generous amount of softened goat cheese on each slice.
Top each goat cheese-covered slice with a spoonful of jam. Use berry jam for a sweet and tangy twist.
You can garnish each crostini with a drizzle of olive oil, fresh cracked black pepper, or a sprinkle of fresh herbs, if desired. Thyme, rosemary, or basil complement the flavors perfectly.
