Jammy Glazed Meatballs
Delicious sweet and savory glazed meatballs that are wildly popular as an appetizer at parties.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef, pork, or turkey depending on your preference
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced (divided)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup jam (peach works well here!)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C)
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large mixing bowl, combine your ground meat of choice, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, 1 minced garlic clove, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
Prepare the Glaze
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the jam, soy sauce, remaining minced garlic clove, and minced ginger.
Stir the mixture until the jam melts and the glaze is smooth.
Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Glaze the Meatballs
Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the saucepan with the glaze.
Gently toss the meatballs in the glaze until they are well coated.
Let them simmer in the glaze for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Serve hot as an appetizer, garnishing with fresh parsley if desired!
