Jammy Glazed Meatballs

Delicious sweet and savory glazed meatballs that are wildly popular as an appetizer at parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef, pork, or turkey depending on your preference

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (divided)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup jam (peach works well here!)

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C)

  2. Prepare the Meatballs

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine your ground meat of choice, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, 1 minced garlic clove, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

    • Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    • Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

  3. Prepare the Glaze

    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the jam, soy sauce, remaining minced garlic clove, and minced ginger.

    • Stir the mixture until the jam melts and the glaze is smooth.

    • Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

  4. Glaze the Meatballs

    • Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the saucepan with the glaze.

    • Gently toss the meatballs in the glaze until they are well coated.

    • Let them simmer in the glaze for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Serve hot as an appetizer, garnishing with fresh parsley if desired!
